As Pretty Little Liars has progressed, "A"'s torture of, Aria, Spencer, Hanna and Emily has grown worse and worse. From turning the fibby foursome against each other to flat-out murder, here's a brief timeline of "A"'s worst acts.
1. Hanna pigs out (Season 1, Episode 13, "Know Your Frenemies")
In one of the most gut-wrenching scenes of the series, "A" tells Hanna (Ashley Benson) that she can earn her mom's stolen money back — but at a price. Playing on this liar's deepest insecurity, "A" forces "Hefty Hanna" to eat an entire box of cupcakes, mockingly decorated with piglets. Seeing Hanna's shame grow with each bite was hard to watch, but viewers' couldn't help but be proud of Hanna when she finally took a stand against "A" and refused to purge after the "meal."
2. Ezria betrayed (Season 2, Episode 15, "If at First You Don't Succeed, Lie, Lie again")
Once again holding the stolen cash over Hanna's head, "A" instructs her to give Aria's mom Ella (Holly Marie Combs) a ticket to a museum in Philly. "Well, that's pretty nice of 'A'," you might be thinking. Wrong! Spencer (Troian Bellisario) had already given Aria (Lucy Hale) tickets to the same museum so that she and Ezra (Ian Harding) could have a proper date night. Forced to betray her BFF to save her family, Hanna's guilt drives her to ask the hot new guy — and her future boyfriend — Caleb (Tyler Blackburn) to tamper with Ella's car, ultimately saving her from outing Ezria.
3. Say farewell to your future (Season 2, Episode 8, "Save the Date")
Emily's (Shay Mitchell) entire college career rests on this one swim meet but, thanks to some meddling by "A," Emily's hospitalized before the event. The unluckiest liar of them all soon finds out that not only does she have an ulcer, but she tested positive for steroids, ruining out any chance of her getting into Danby or receiving a swimming scholarship. This girl just can't catch a break!

4.
Love's a bitch (Season 2, Episode 13, "Over My Dead Body")
With the life of Dr. Sullivan (Annabeth Gish) in peril, Aria, Hanna and Spencer are each forced to obey the demand of a (very creepy) doll sent to them by "A" — and this time it was definitely Spence who got the short end of the stick. With instructions to keep Toby (Keegan Allen) safe, our favorite sleuth read between the lines and knew that she had to break up with her boo. Sitting in his truck (as always), Spencer breaks the bad news to Toby before running away in tears. Spencer's typical tough-girl attitude made her breakdown that much harder to bear.

5. Adeadly affair (Season 2, Episode 25, "UnmAsked")
With the murder of Ali (Sasha Pieterse) and the attempted murder of Hanna already under her belt, no one was surprised when "A" claimed another victim, but it's doubtful anyone predicted the choice of casualty. After the big reveal that Hanna's apparent BFF Mona (Janel PArrish) is "A," Season 2 ended with the news that Emily's former flame Maya (Bianca Lawson), who had gone missing, had been murdered — apparently in the same place where Ali's body had been buried!6. Grin and bear it (Season 3, Episode 2, "Blood Is the New Black")
After receiving a note in the third season premiere that read, "Mona played with dolls, I play with body parts," we knew "A" had really stepped up his/her/their game this year. As usual, "A" exceeded our expectations when she sent Emily (why is it always Emily?) a necklace made of human teeth that are supposedly Ali's. If that wasn't creepy enough, the chompers spelled out, "Dead Girls Can't Smile." Did you get chills yet? But surprisingly, that wasn't the worst part of the scene. That honor goes to ol' butterfingers Spencer, who accidentally dropped necklace in the auto-flush toilet, preventing the girls from (finally!) going to the police with evidence of "A."What are your picks for the worst things "A" has done?Pretty Little Liars airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC Family.
