A drama series based on Tyler Perry's 2011 play of the same name, "The Haves and the Have Nots" follows three Savannah families: the wealthy and influential Cryers; the equally powerful Harringtons; and the impoverished Youngs. In Season 1, viewers get to know the key players and the dark secrets and painful memories they hide. Among the Cryers are patriarch and aspiring Georgia governor Jim (John Schneider), authoritative wife and mother Katheryn (Renee Lawless), wayward son Wyatt (Aaron O'Connell) and emotionally fragile daughter Amanda (Jaclyn Betham). On the Harrington side, there's the cunning and manipulative Veronica (Angela Robinson); her husband, David (Peter Parros), a judge who's also Jim Cryer's business partner; and their son Jeffrey (Gavin Houston), who's struggling to come to terms with his sexual orientation. Interacting with both families are the Youngs, headed by matriarch Hanna (Crystal Fox), who works as a maid for the Cryers. Her family is made up of her estranged daughter Candace (Tika Sumpter) and her hard-working son Benny (Tyler Lepley). Eva Tamargo also stars as Celine Gonzales, a maid who works with Hanna.
