18 Episodes 1999 - 1999
Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker) and Mr. Big (Chris Noth) have called it quits and Carrie does her best to move on by jumping back into the dating scene in the comedy's second season. After exhausting friends Charlotte (Kristin Davis), Samantha (Kim Cattrall) and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) with incessant analysis of her failed relationship with Big, Carrie seeks out a therapist. The shrink informs her she meets the wrong men, and there are a slew of them in Season 2. On tap for Carrie: an alcoholic who uses Carrie as a substitute for his compulsions; a writer who, according to Samantha, "can't get his car in the garage"; and a buddy Carrie turns to for sex between relationships. Her friends, too, suffer through a season of poor choices. Charlotte, tired of her lousy dates, becomes involved with a group of power lesbians, but puts off telling them she's actually straight. She later hooks up with a movie star and dates a man who she thinks might be gay. Samantha goes from seeing the perfect man with one little problem to a 72-year-old millionaire on Viagra. It's the cynical Miranda, however, who ends up in a real romance when she meets nice-guy bartender Steve (David Eigenberg). Despite the disapproval of her friends, Carrie gives it another shot with Big. But their relationship is once again severely tested when Big announces he's moving to Paris for six months---without Carrie. Season 2 guest stars include Valerie Harper, Jon Bon Jovi, Bradley Cooper and Donald Trump.
