The King of Yesterday and Tomorrow is a Hong Kong television drama serial that originally aired on Jade from 27 January to 21 February 2003. According to legend, Yongzheng Emperor of the Qing dynasty may not have died of natural death and was actually assassinated. The plot is an imaginative time-traveling story based on the continuation of what happens after the assassination attempt. The drama is produced by TVB under executive producer Siu Hin-fai. With an average of 2.21 million viewers, the drama is the fourth highest rating drama series of 2003. It received five nominations at the TVB Anniversary Awards, winning four. Maggie Cheung Ho-yee won the TVB Anniversary Award for Best Actress and one of twelve My Favourite Television Character awards, while Paul Chun won My Favourite Powerhouse Actor. Kwong Wa was nominated for the TVB Anniversary Award for Best Actor, and won one of twelve My Favourite Television Character awards.

World Shut Your Mouth was a hidden camera television series starring Dom Joly that ran on Friday nights in 2005 on BBC One.Dom Joly made his name on the similar series Trigger Happy TV on Channel 4, and it was from its great success that he was hired by the BBC to produce new programming. His first effort was an unsuccessful spoof chat show named This Is Dom Joly. The lack of success in conventional comedy prompted him to go back to his hidden camera roots and started to create a new series which was very similar to Trigger Happy TV, with short stunts overlaid with a soundtrack. He was the main participant in these stunts. As with his previous work, the programme had an emphasis on surrealism, with sketches such as a spying gnome and nerds taunting skaters and him dressing up in aluminium foil like a superhero, being a partner of a traffic warden who was technically ignoring him.The main difference between Trigger Happy TV and World Shut Your Mouth was the scope of the show. Where Trigger Happy TV took place in various places around the United Kingdom, the larger budget of World Shut Your Mouth allowed for international travel and filming, and many of the stunts took place at, or near, major international landmarks.

The drama is told in three separate folklore stories about love, lust, vanity, greed and selfishness.{Changing Pins} - Male and female fraternal twins fall in love with different men with the same appearance. The older male twin has an homosexual affair with a Prince of the Liao Kingdom, while the female twin falls in love with a poor scholar.{Judge Lu} - A poor scholar has an affair with a courtesan that resembles his wife.

Because of a kidnapping case, an amnesia case, a missing woman and a big sum of money, waiter Ng Yiu-chung and interior designer Meng Yat-yin bump into each other and develop a subtle friendship. After being saved, Yat-yin becomes an amnesia sufferer. He forgets the kidnapping. His wife Yau Fei-yi, who has paid a ransom, is also missing. Yat-yin wants to rely on Yiu-chung to unravel the kidnapping case and also track down Fei-yi. But Yiu-chung wants to use Yat-yin for finding the vanished ransom. He also has to keep his involvement in the case secret. With psychotherapist Lam Hoi-ching's help, Yat-yin regains fragments of his memory. However, the surprising truth is steadily revealed as lost moments are gradually realigned.

High Kick! was a popular South Korean situation comedy revolving around the life of the Lee family, taking place in Seoul at the same time as the broadcast. The title of the show "High Kick!" has several implications, one of which is the oft-depicted high kicks of Yoon-ho, one of the main characters. The show aired in South Korea from Monday to Friday in sitcom format. Due to its popularity, the show filmed more episodes than were initially planned.
