This documentary chronicles the billionaire's life during the 1930s and '40s, when he dated some of Tinseltown's most glamorous stars---Ava Gardner, Rita Hayworth, Katharine Hepburn---and turned his attentions to filmmaking in an attempt to become "the greatest producer Hollywood has ever seen." It was during this period that he produced and directed two of his most well-known (and notorious) productions: "Hell's Angels" (1930) with Jean Harlow, and "The Outlaw" (1943) with Jane Russell.
