The houseguests participate in a fish-themed food competition, with the losers eating slop for a week. In the challenge, the six couples are divided into two teams, and players are required to hold a net full of fish. The person who holds the net the longest wins the reward for his or her team. At the nomination ceremony, two couples are put up for eviction.

The guys try to guess their partner's weight and then gather enough asparagus scattered in the backyard to equal their soul mate's weight. If they are within 10 pounds of the correct weight, the whole house wins selected food items. Later, two couples are nominated for eviction.

Four teams compete for the Power of Veto by attempting to solve a puzzle that is suspended in mid-air. The women each wear a harness that is attached to a pulley. The guys hand them puzzle pieces and hoist them up to put the pieces in place. Later, the houseguests learn via a letter that when they hear a siren they must immediately assemble in the living room to learn of a twist in the game.

The players shoot a cue ball on an oversized pool table and attempt to be the one who comes closest to hitting the veto symbol in the middle of the table in order to win.
