A Los Angeles Superior Court judge has approved a retroactive raise for the singer's father, Jamie Spears, who has been managing Spears' affairs since she was placed under a conservatorship in February, the Associated Press reports.
Jamie Spears had been receiving $10,000 a month from his daughter's estate, but due to Spears' recent comeback, which includes a 2009 tour, he will now earn $16,000 a month. His backpay, for work done from January, when the 27-year-old was first hospitalized, to November, totals almost $40,000.
In addition, Jamie will get an extra $1,200 per month to create and maintain an office, where he can carry out his conservatorship duties.
In October, Jamie was named Spears' permanent conservator. The next court hearing will take place Feb. 3.
