Young as You Feel Reviews

This was the last of 17 entries in the "Jones Family" series. The father (Prouty) decides it's time they lead a more sophisticated life, so he sells the family drugstore and takes his pack off to New York City. There they find sophistication is not all it's cracked up to be as various confidence artists and shady ladies try to bilk the bumpkins out of everything they have. The family packs up and heads back to the small town where they truly belong. Though the comedy is slight, the simple plot is told in an entertaining manner and given a good production. The cast is fine for the fare. The fourth-billed Gleason was, with his parents James and Lucille, a staple of Republic's concurrently competititve family series, THE HIGGINS FAMILY. Such intercasting amity among competitors was rare at the time, but the producer of Republic's series had died, and the product was temporarily shelved. When it was renewed the following year, the elder Gleasons were not part of it.
