Who? Reviews

When American scientist Bova is nearly killed in an accident along the Russian border, Soviet doctors perform life-saving surgery that makes him half-man, half-machine. He wants to return to his top-secret work, but American officials, led by Gould, must figure out whether Bova is now a mole for the USSR. Howard is the Russian spy trainer who wants to use Bova for his country's purposes. The film ends on a lackluster note, though, when Bova returns to his late parents' farm to spend his days rather than serve as a pawn for either country. Bova gives an intriguing performance in this combination spy-science fiction piece. However, the direction never amounts to much, paying more attention to stock chase sequences than to the unusual character development.
