When con man Dunn is elected to his home town's chamber of commerce, he returns to the town with three slick friends of his. The friends aren't welcome unless they pay off a debt for some bad bonds they sold the town. Dunn wins a fortune at the track, pays the debt, befriends a wealthy New Yorker, and he and his friends win a mint in a shell game. A lot happens but the story rambles around and finally staggers to a finish without anything much being said or done that makes sense.
