Weekend Murders Reviews

This Italian-produced programmer takes stabs at the standard murder mystery. In a familiar scene, family members gather for a will reading at a British estate and then are murdered one by one, leaving Metropolitan Opera soprano Moffo the sole beneficiary. An incredibly dumb Scotland Yard detective gets Moffo to confess that she is guilty of the murders and that a second will exists, which she has hidden. The best moment has Moffo commenting, after finding the butler's corpse, "At least for once no one will be able to say the butler did it." Black sexpot Cunningham and nympho maid De Santis were responsible for the picture's "R" rating, but their antics were muted and the rating should have been "G."
