A remake of CASTLE OF BLOOD (1964) with director Margheriti once again trying to spook us with the tale of a man, Franciosa, who spends the night in a haunted house to disprove an age-old legend. During the night the dead come back to life, and he realizes what a foolish mistake he has made. He flees the house but accidentally kills himself. This version lacks the enigmatic Barbara Steele, of CASTLE OF BLOOD, but does have Klaus Kinski playing Edgar Allan Poe--the only reason to watch it.
