Charles Butterworth returns to his college in hopes of recapturing the youthful exuberance of his school days. He gets drunk at the homecoming game and, finding his way onto the football field, tries to prevent his team from being scored against. Walter Abel, a snooty contractor who sees nothing but dollar signs, and Hugh Herbert, a lamebrained professor, join with Butterworth in returning to their old stomping grounds.
