War of the Wildcats Reviews

Scott, the local school marm, is hounded out of town because of a "sexy" book she has penned. Aboard her departure train she meets oilman Dekker and good guy cowboy Wayne. Wayne and Dekker take an immediate dislike to each other, and the antagonism intensifies when Dekker tries to drill for oil on Indian land. Wayne allies himself with the locals, getting the oil lease with the provision that he deliver before a deadline. Despite some dirty dealings by Dekker, Wayne makes the deadline and wins Scott's heart in the process. Evans, who sings "Put Your Arms Around Me Honey," would achieve renown as Roy Rogers' gal. Arlene Dahl made her first screen appearance in this film. The film earned Oscar nominations for sound and score.
