Vice Squad Reviews

Robinson plays a tough Los Angeles cop investigating the murder of a fellow cop. The only witness to the crime, Hall, refuses to talk for fear of disclosing things which would disrupt his personal life. Keeping Hall around just in case, Robinson gets a tip on a bank robbery in the planning for that day. He sends a detachment to cover the bank, and when the robbery takes place, the two men responsible for the murder turn up, but they get away by taking a clerk hostage. Continued pursuit pins the two culprits in their hideout, and Robinson finally captures the killers he set out to grab earlier that morning. An attempt is made to give a realistic depiction of police life by having Robinson go through his job as if it were all in a day's work. Robinson is quite convincing at pulling this off; his performance is all that lifts this picture above the routine.
