Under Texas Skies Reviews

Kingston is an orphaned girl whose father left her a herd of horses that Army officer Cody plans to buy for the cavalry. He is captured, however, by a bandit gang led by Chandler. Chandler then poses as the officer and tries to gain the girl's confidence. In the meantime, a mysterious cowboy, Custer, has arrived and also tries to befriend the girl. She has trouble deciding which of the two men is legitimate and finally realizes that Chandler is part of the horse-rustling gang. This is an interesting low-budget western. Producer Johnston's Syndicate Pictures was one of the two major sources of westerns during this period. The same featured male players worked in many of Syndicate's films, but leading-man status changed from film to film. It was Custer's turn to be the hero in this one.
