Trouble at Midnight Reviews

It starts off like a war film, turns into a gangster movie, and ends up being a western. This cheap outing from Universal suffers from an obvious thrown-together production, borrowing from each of the three mentioned genres and ultimately creating nothing. Beery plays a dairy farmer who's having trouble because his stock suffers from constant midnight raids. He's also in love with Hughes, a banker's daughter whose pappy (Halton) disapproves of Beery. With the help of Dwire, Beery stops the nefarious activities and ends up with the gal. The production suffers from an unsure story line. The end result fooled no one and the film proved to be a box-office bomb.
