Tight Shoes Reviews

Amusing adaptation of a Damon Runyon story starring Crawford as a brutish, corrupt ward heeler who has big feet and buys a pair of tight shoes from shoe salesman Howard. Deciding that the shoe store would be a good front for his gambling den, Crawford buys the store and kicks Howard out in the street. Angry, Howard follows the advice of his girl friend, Gwynne, and crusading city editor, Lane, and vows to expose the crooked Crawford. This leads to Crawford being pushed off his pedestal and stripped of his power by his bosses. The corrupt politicians, and Crawford's floozy, Barnes, latch onto Howard and the new-found power goes to his head. Luckily, Gwynne brings Howard to his senses, and they get married. Good cast has fun with Runyon's patented New Yorkese.
