The Woman in the Hall Reviews

A very unpretty, though realistic, look at the negative effects a mother's misconduct can have on her daughter, with Simmons growing up under the domination of Jeans, a leech living off the charity of other people instead of working for a living. Jeans is pretty good at convincing others of her need, though deep down she's scheming. She eventually bags herself a wealthy husband in Parker, but by this time Simmons has decided to make an honest living. Portions of her mother still remain in her as she forges a check, and although her objective is a charitable one, she still must face the consequences when caught. Performances are not up to the quality of the script or the originality of the idea.
