Nubile maidens make meals for the tentacled title vegetable when the human residents of the Amazon jungles practice their ritual sacrifices. Mad scientist Coulouris, observing the strange rites, develops the idea that sap oozing from the cutie-gobbling carnivore might confer immortality on humankind, so he transports the tree to his London laboratory. In order to persuade the plant to exude its marvelous sap, Coulouris must lure lots of lissome ladies to his lair at feeding time. Curvaceous blonde Day, an employee of the dotty doctor, is the chief incipient meal. Another employee, housekeeper Gregg, is murdered by Coulouris, who then brings her back to life with a serum made from the plant's exudations. The revivified Gregg proves to be a mindless zombie, so the disappointed doctor attempts to destroy the vegetable by fire. He perishes in the attempt. Performances are as good as the script will allow; screenwriter Fleming is not a particularly clever wordsmith.
