The Vicious Years Reviews

Set in Italy shortly after the war had torn the normal structures of that country apart, Cook plays a young street urchin who uses his witnessing of a murder to gain entrance into the home of a once wealthy family. His manners and attitudes change as he feels the sense of warmth and belonging that comes from staying with the family. His means of gaining entrance remains a mystery, as the son of the family, Moore, the person Cook saw commit the murder, harbors schemes against the youth. Heavy on atmosphere, which partially makes up for the tension lacking in the script.
