The Time of Their Lives Reviews

A mansion serves as the setting for this funny outing in which Lou Costello plays the ghost of Horatio Prim, who was wrongfully shot as a traitor during the Revolutionary War. He is joined in this plight by a beautiful ghost named Melody (Marjorie Reynolds), both of them confined to Earth until their innocence is proven. In a dual role, Bud Abbott plays a present-day psychologist and one of the men responsible for the ghosts' long-ago deaths. For a change, Costello has a chance to get his licks in against Abbott, as Horatio uses invisibility to play numerous tricks on the psychologist. In fact, most of the film's gags are derived from the fact that ghosts Horatio and Melody cannot be seen.
