The Song of Love Reviews

Baker, a member of a vaudeville family, finally realizes that she is not giving son Durand a normal childhood. When she quits the stage act, her husband, Graves, teams up with Quedens, with whom he becomes romantically involved, but she leaves him and he starts drinking heavily. Meanwhile, Baker resumes singing after her son goes to military school, and a friend of Graves takes the boy to see his dad in the hope of straightening him out. They decide to catch Baker's new act and join her in the finale to seal their reunion. This was Eve Arden's first film appearance, though she was billed using her real name of Eunice Quedens. Songs include: "I'm Somebody's Baby Now" (Mack Gordon, Max Rich), "I'll Still Go on Wanting You" (Bernie Grossman), "Take Everything but You," "I'm Walking on Moonbeams (Talking to the Stars)" (Gordon, Rich, Maurice Abrahams), "White Way Blues" (Gordon, Rich, George Weist).
