The Scarlet Coat Reviews

A behind-the-scenes look at the events of the Revolutionary War, this concentrates on the espionage efforts of both the Redcoats and the revolutionaries. Wilde, a devoted American partisan, poses as an unscrupulous opportunist in order to infiltrate the British staff. Despite the efforts of the suave Sanders to convince his superiors that Wilde is a spy, the latter uncovers the infamous plot of Benedict Arnold. Filmed in the Hudson Bay area, the picture is bolstered by CinemaScope photography and realistic settings that support the efficient direction and convincing cast.
