In this film, Japanese lords battle for power during civil wars. Kinnosuke Nakamura and his 3,000 gunners are recruited to help Katsu. Nakamura thinks he loves Katsu's sister, but Katsu has no sister and Nakamura is tricked. He swears revenge by vowing to help the priest-warriors of Honganji Temple. He then finds out he has been in love with one of the sisters of the priests all along.
