The Lost Man Reviews

Poitier plays the leader of a black militant group that robs a factory to provide money for families of jailed demonstators. During the escape Poitier kills a man and one of the group is killed. Poitier hides out in a movie theater, while the others go to a whorehouse, where they are killed in a shootout. Unable to distribute the stolen money because of police patrols, Poitier enlists the help of white social worker Shimkus. The two are cornered by police when they try to reach a waiting ship. This story was previously filmed as ODD MAN OUT (1947); in that case the militant organization was the IRA and the star James Mason.
