Romantic story of the operatic world, with Adolphe Menjou as a baritone who loses his beloved protégée (Irene Dunne) to a younger man. Potter: Ernest Torrence. Carlo: Neil Hamilton. Finny: Cliff Edwards. Savarova: Olga Baclanova. Stapleton: Hale Hamilton. Familiar but charmingly acted. Some fine singing by Miss Dunne and others.

Menjou is an aging opera star who courts budding young singer Dunne, devoting much attention to her, but also to an array of others. She is attracted to his talent, though she refuses to put up with his philandering. When a past love of hers suddenly emerges, she leaves Menjou, preferring honesty to artistry. A very young Dunne turns in a fine performance.
