The Girl from Petrovka Reviews

Hawn struggles mightily with this dim material provided by screenwriters Bryant and Scott, but she just can't seem to shake the basic inanity of the concept. She plays a Russian girl who falls in love with American reporter Holbrook. Stereotypical and unimaginative complications follow. Purporting to be a social comedy, the film is never very funny, and the ending (which has Hawn sent to prison because her papers weren't in order) ruins any good feelings that may have slipped through.
