The Further Adventures of Tennessee Buck Reviews

A knockoff of the "Indiana Jones" movies--with the addition of four-letter words and lots of jiggling breasts--THE FURTHER ADVENTURES OF TENNESSEE BUCK stars its director, Keith, as a drunken big-game hunter who is bailed out of jail by Van Hoffman. A nerd with too much money and a beauty-queen wife (Kathy Shower), Van Hoffman wants Keith to take him and his wife to a jungle island where he can bag a white tiger, despite Keith's warning that the isle is cannibal country. The price is right, however, and Keith agrees. It isn't long before they gain firsthand experience of the man-eaters, who capture them and take them to the cannibal camp, where the chief takes a special liking to the luscious Shower. Keith, a good actor who made a memorable impression in AN OFFICER AND A GENTLEMAN, later also became a director, debuting with THE CURSE, and he shows some ability in the field. He is also a relaxed, likable hero and gives the film whatever charm it has with his portrayal. On the other hand, to say former Playmate of the Year Shower's thespian talents are limited would be kind. The whole picture is little more than a live-action cartoon, but accepted on that level, it can be entertaining. It's certainly less mean-spirited than many other "Indiana Jones" ripoffs. Not for kids.
