The Devil's Hand Reviews

A supernatural tale starring Alda as a man who finds a curio doll in a small shop that embodies his ideal of a perfect woman. The shop owner informs him that the doll was modeled after a young woman who lives nearby, and the man gives Alda her address. When Alda leaves, the shopkeeper (who is the high priest of a voodoo cult) produces a doll of Alda's girl friend, Welter, and sticks a pin into it. Welter is suddenly stricken and taken to a hospital. Alda meets his "perfect" woman, Christian, who promises him her love if he will join the cult. He goes through with the initiation, but his love for Welter forces him to remove the pin from her doll. freeing her from her malaise. The cult members discover Alda's disloyalty and kidnap Welter to use as a human sacrifice. Alda comes to his senses, kills the high priest, and the temple is engulfed in flames. The fate of Christian remains unknown, and Alda and the viewer are left pondering as to whether the evil has really ended. Less than terrifying.
