When his mail-order bride fails to show up at the train station on her designated arrival date, blacksmith Blocker threatens to pack up and leave town to escape the humiliation. When the townspeople realize they could be losing their only blacksmith, they hire dancehall girl Fabray to portray the tardy bride. Blocker eventually discovers the ruse, but since he has fallen in love with the substitute, he decides to marry the equally loving Fabray. Riding high on his success in television's Bonanza, star Blocker tries to do what he can with this uninspired western comedy.
