The Chaser Reviews

Ambulance-chasing lawyer falls for the girl planted by his company to get the goods on him. Fairly good plot and capable direction but probably the most interesting note on the film is that it was Turner's second film with MGM. When the picture was released the ads proclaimed, "Watch Out for a Gorgeous Girl!" meaning the film's leading lady Morriss, making her screen debut; but to film buffs the slogan has taken on a different connotation with the brief appearance of Turner as one of the sleazy lawyer's clients whose big scene ended up on the cutting room floor. Consequently, screen billing was removed, but if one looks quickly she can still be spotted in the lawyer's waiting room, legs crossed provocatively, reading a magazine. Three years and several films later Morriss dropped out of sight. (Remake of THE NUISANCE.)
