This is a very funny satire of television. The action takes place at UBC, a TV network that's always last in the ratings. One of the pages has a girl friend whose pet chimp unerringly picks hit TV shows. Network employee Steven Post (Kurt Russell) uses the animal to great advantage and soon his star is rising. The secret of Post's success soon leaks out, however, and everyone wants the brilliant chimp, leading to a variety of complications. Look for a very young John Ritter already showing his stuff as Roger.
