The Bad Man Reviews

Huston is the only reason to sit through this western as he plays the swaggering Mexican bandit Lopez eventually shot to pieces by Texas Rangers. Remade from a silent film, the script suffers from the melodramatic plotting that characterized the worst films of that era. Inexplicable attraction to this material was demonstrated by a remake in 1937 as WEST OF SHANGHAI and again in 1941. Director Badger worked on the classic silent IT (1927).
