A murderer (Raymond Lovell) creates an alibi by bribing a cafe hostess (Margaret Lockwood) to say she spent the evening with him. Hugh Sinclair, James Mason. Dany: Enid Stamp-Taylor. Delia: Jane Carr. Gordon: Hartley Power. Directed by Brian Desmond-Hurst.
Uninteresting remake of 1939's THE ALIBI, which starred Erich von Stroheim. As in that film, a nightclub psychic kills a man and uses the bar hostess to obtain his alibi. Mason gives a suave performance, but that's about the only worthwhile contribution to this film.
