Tarzan's Peril Reviews

A well-crafted addition to the "Tarzan" series, with Barker appearing for the third time as the ape-man. A pair of gunrunners try to make trouble in Africa by getting the short-tempered Yorango tribe to attack the tolerant, peaceful Ashubas. The villains try to kill Barker when he gets in the way, but they forget that he's king of the jungle and always emerges victorious. The additional location footage, shot in East Africa, was directed by Phil Brandon and photographed by Jack Whitehead, who worked as a special effects cameraman on a few of Alfred Hitchcock's British films (THE THIRTY-NINE STEPS; SECRET AGENT; YOUNG AND INNOCENT) while under contract with Gaumont British. He also worked on GOODBYE MR. CHIPS (1939), ODD MAN OUT (1947) and HAMLET (1948) before retiring to the United States.
