The young Beery befriends the young colt and becomes the only person who can even get near it. Beery finds himself in the middle of a conflict between two brothers--one who wants to save the colt and a pack of wild horses, the other who wants to make money from them. Eventually the kid charms the brothers into seeing things the right way.
