South of Tahiti Reviews

Donlevy, Crawford, and Devine play three pearl hunters who become shipwrecked on a South Sea island where local beauty Montez is quick to steal Donlevy's heart. Story goes adrift in a number of ill-fitting slapstick routines, with the out-of-the-ordinary ending that the three decide to stay on the island when Montez and Donlevy marry. A fascinating rendition of an initiation ceremony, given western choreography, gives this picture a little spark, though not enough to pull it out of its unbelievable storyline.
