A hotel kitchen slave (Judy Canova) substitutes a recording of hers for that of a gangster's girl (Ruth Terry), meaning lots of trouble. Canova finds herself in a very touchy situation when she is mistaken for a nightclub singer on the mob's hit list. The lady comedian gives her usual overbearing performance which proves too much even for the gangsters who are after her. Songs include: "I Don't Want Nobody at All," "Barrelhouse Bessie," "When the Cat's Away" (Jule Styne, Herb Magidson, sung by Canova), and "Sleepytime Gal" (Richard A. Whiting, Ange Lorenzo, Joseph R. Alden, Ray Egan, sung by Canova).
