Sing and Be Happy Reviews

Martin is the bane of his father, refusing to take a position at the family ad agency and instead flitting about the country. He returns home and goes to the office but just upsets the businesslike decorum. He complicates matters by trying to woo Ray, the daughter of his father's rival. The two agencies come head to head over a pickle account in this light-hearted (and headed) little musical. It was Martin's first starring role and was little more than a vehicle designed to give him a boost. The production is okay and the acting is passable, considering the featherweight story. Songs: "Sing and Be Happy," "Travelin' Light," "What a Beautiful Beginning" (Sidney Clare, Harry Akst).
