Silver Spurs Reviews

There's oil on Cowan's ranch and Carradine wants it. The wily villain also wants the railroad right-of-way for himself and tries to trip up Cowan with liquor and a mail-order bride. Rogers is on hand as the ranch foreman who catches on to Carradine but not before his boss is murdered by some henchmen. Yakima Canutt, who served as John Wayne's nemesis in numerous B Westerns, provided the stunts for Rogers, putting in nearly as much time as Rogers. The direction is sharp and the production reflects the bigger budgets the studio was now giving its popular cowboy in this first of his films to appear following his cover appearance as "King of the Cowboys" in Life magazine.
