Separate Vacations Reviews

Richard (David Naughton) and Sarah Moore (Jennifer Dale) are a long-married couple with three kids who find the stress of it all getting to them. Richard is continually attracted to other women and when the opportunity to travel to Mexico on business presents itself, he doesn't hesitate to cancel out on a family ski trip. Sarah, of course, takes this decision as a personal rejection, so she goes off on her trip with the kids and the babysitter with a chip on her shoulder. Richard soon abandons any plans for business and heads for Puerta Vallarta to pick up some women. Meanwhile, Sarah has attracted a young ski instructor (Mark Keyloun) whom she continually resists. SEPARATE VACATIONS is an annoying, unfunny comedy. Naughton is too unsympathetic to be the center of the film and Dale can't act well enough to do it herself. The script has the subtlety of dirty story told by a junior-high-schooler, and the plot is thoroughly familiar.
