In this satirical jab at modern civilization and its development from primitive cultures, natives from an unnamed place stumble upon an old mansion. They inhabit the mansion, adorning the clothing and other refined characteristics of what they take to be civilization. The culmination is a party in which all sorts of heavies are invited. The natives' personalities, while not deviating entirely, do take on certain "civilized" traits. The strong tribe members evolve into their 20th-century counterparts, while the weak still find themselves the victims. The natives' party eventually degenerates, the participants tire of the game, and everyone reverts back to primitive ways. Lassally photographs the primitive scenes in black and white, with "civilization" in color. The color scenes have a hueing that captures an atmosphere reminiscent of the early 1900s.
