Roll Along, Cowboy Reviews

A bottom-rung oater which has crooning cowboy Ballew assist Robinson in her fight against a crooked lawyer, while falling in love with her daughter Parker. Ballew delivers the tunes "On the Sunny Side of the Rockies" (Roy Ingram, Harry Tobias) and "Roll Along, Ride 'Em Cowboy" (Lyle Womack, Lew Porter). Band leader Ballew was Fox's attempt to cash in on the singing cowboy bonanza that Gene Autry had struck in 1935. It was an unfortunate decision for Ballew, who sang quite well but was not suited to the Stetson and boot crowd, and he soon vanished from the sagebrush scene.
