Despite the fact that RKO didn't have much original material, they went ahead and produced another one of these low-budget musicals populated with famous radio stars of the day. Brown and Carney star as the managers of a floundering Hollywood talent agency who take their promising new client Langford on the rounds of all the popular radio shows (at least the ones RKO had access to). They wind up in the middle of Ralph Edwards' "Truth or Consequences" show, which yields the climactic yucks. Having no budget for original songs, RKO borrowed a few popular standbys from some of their previous musicals including: "Can't Get out of This Mood" (Jimmy McHugh, Frank Loesser), "That Old Black Magic" (Harold Arlen, Johnny Mercer), "Don't Believe Everything You Dream," and "I Couldn't Sleep a Wink Last Night" (McHugh, Harold Adamson).
