aka Opened Shutters When Sam Lacey (Joe Swickard) dies, his daughter Sylvia (Edith Roberts) is sent to live with her straight-laced New England relatives, Aunt Martha (Mai Wells) and her husband, Judge Trent (Clark Comstock). Sylvia is unhappy and unwanted there, so she goes to live with a former suitor or her mother's, Jacob Johnson (Charles Clary), also known around those parts as "Think Right" because he preaches his philosophy at the drop of a hat. Sylvia believes his words, but finds them hard to follow when she believes that John Dunham, the man she loves (Edward Burns), has fallen for Edna Derwent (Nola Luxford). She runs away and when her rowboat gets caught in a fierce storm, John comes to the rescue. Sylvia finally realizes that he does love her after all.
