One Potato, Two Potato Reviews

Barrie, the mother of a young child, is deserted by her husband, Mulligan. He leaves for South America, and she gets a divorce and a job at a local plant, where she meets Hamilton, a black coworker. They fall in love, marry, and move to the farm of Hamilton's parents. Mulligan returns and, when he finds out that his ex-wife has married a black man, files for custody of his child. Hamilton is told to take his family out of state because the chances of his being able to retain custody are slim. The couple, however, decides to stay and fight. The judge, influenced by social prejudices, awards the child to Mulligan. An engaging, independent production shot on a small budget in Ohio. The film was nominated by the Academy for Best Screenplay.
