On the Buses Reviews

Yet another television comedy series turned into a feature film version that is wholly without style, humor, or interest. Despite the picture's obvious handicaps, it was the most successful film at the British box offices in 1971 and ensured that a rash of imitations would follow. The story, such as it is, concerns the trials and tribulations of life in a bus depot involving women drivers. The humor is sexist, of course, and infantile, with no wit or sophistication, which of course ensured its appeal to a large segment of the masses.
