Oh Sailor, Behave! Reviews

The way-out comedy team of Olsen and Johnson made its film debut in this amusing comedy based on a failed Broadway play of Elmer Rice. Reworked for the team's talents, the story has them playing a pair of American sailors stationed in Naples. Their mission is to find a man with a wooden leg who has robbed a Navy storehouse. The humor is pretty basic but enjoyable nonetheless. The studio recreated the Bay of Naples on its back lots for this film with amazingly good results. Release of this film was held up because of a prevailing attitude against musicals which was growing on the Warners lot. Songs include: "Love Comes in the Moonlight," "Leave a Little Smile," "Tell Us Which One Do You Love," "Highway to Heaven" (Al Dubin, Joe Burke), and "The Laughing Song" (Olsen, Johnson).
