Routine formula crime drama has Barrymore as a man who's murdered his wife and blamed it on her lover. Bickford is the not-too-bright cop trying to solve the case, but a witty newspaper reporter finally brings the culprit to justice. Script is much too obvious to hold any suspense, with Overman, as the newspaper reporter, providing the only moments of worthwhile acting in the film. Remake of GUILTY AS HELL (1932).
